If I'm going to see you in the next couple of weeks and you have empty 2-liters, I can make you an upside-down planter. Or you can just let me reuse some plastic. I have 7 tomato plants to spare now, and my snow pea seedlings just sprouted. My neighborhood community gardens aren't the best about communication, so my current plan is to have vegetable vines hanging from the back fence of the parking lot in a couple of months. The usual morning glories (or something; don't tend to see many flowers, but I know what morning glory vines look like) have yet to take over, so we'll see.

If I had thought about it when I met my absentee next door neighbor (house renovation, overgrown yard with woodpile and many stray cats, mostly hidden by fence), I would have offered to plant things in the backyard. And requested a trim for the tree that slams against my bedroom window at the slightest breeze.
